Fleming Fish Farm and Hatchery
Our fish hatchery is located in Faison,North Carolina. We have ponds and 4 hatchery buildings with with over 200 tanks that we raise largemouth bass, bream, catfish and koi for pond stocking making us one of the largest hatchery facilities in NC.
This farm was built in 1982 by Dr.William "Doc" Lewis, a leader and pioneer in aquaculture for years. He owned and operated this farm until 2006. Doc still lives next door and continues to volunteer his knowledge whenever needed.

Ornamental Koi and Butterfly Koi
In the spring of each year we select our brood koi pairs and begin the wait to see what wonderful varieties emerge. Once the fry have grown and begun eating pelleted food we place them in our grow out ponds. We keep some in the hatchery for those who want to come and see the koi close up.We sell our koi retail and wholesale for those who wish to buy in large quantity.

Freshwater Prawn
We have now sold all our prawn for the season, but we still have some bait prawn, those that got stuck in the pond when draining and did not get to the tanks fast enough. $5 lb great for the fall fishing at the beach, in fact Davis and Debra fished the second annual pleasure island surf tournament on Oct 24-26th and Debra won 2nd place in the pompano division using prawn. We both caught some large blues and flounder but not large enough to place. The weather was horrid, 55 mile gust on Friday evening and rain and wind on Sat.
